"A critical self-examination that evokes both laughter and tears. I highly recommend it."

"A Paper Orchestra" by Michael Jamin is a touching and humorous piece of introspection. I enjoyed the book so much that I also listened to his self-narrated audiobook, which made the experience even more fun and engaging. I highly recommend consuming it in both formats."

"The author skillfully intertwines memories, metaphors, and the challenges of growing up with significant and pivotal relationship and highly critical self-examination. He captures the angst and emotional struggles of becoming a partner and a man with intense security that elicits both laughter and tears. I wholeheartedly recommend this touching, intelligent, and humorous book to anyone who enjoys a good book."

"A Nicholas Sparks meets Jerry Seinfield Kind of Reading"

"Beware: After reading Michael's collection of short stories, you may feel compelled to rethink the seemingly most underwhelming moments of your life and realize these were what shaped you into the person you are today."

"His brilliance in writing manages to entertain with imagery, clever personification, and humor to such a degree you won't want the story end.  He consistently delivered a walk-off grand slam! So entertaining!"

"I also appreciated the ambient instrumental following each story, allowing me to linger in the feelings a bit before moving onto the short story."

"Bravo, Michael! No pressure, but I am looking forward to the next collection! Ok, maybe a little pressure."

"Tooth and Nail... An artist finds their voice."

"My favorite book of the year! This one will be hard to dethrone. I work in a creative field and this book of personal essays (sort of fictionalized for our entertainment) really hit home for me. It was absolutely inspiring and I'm sharing it with all my painting friends. The way Michael Jamin composes his tales by interlacing coming of age moments with more contemporary obstacles in his life, is delightful -at times outright HILARIOUS. Actually, most of the read, I was laughing my ass off. Nothing is off limits in this book, he goes there, those humiliating moments and the heart-wrenching ones too. It's a deep dive into the way a creative person views the world, and their struggles of learning how to cope and digest these milestones. Between moments of amusement, I also found myself crying, relating to the main character's flaws. My favorite story revolves around the magic of Halloween season, it made me recall my childhood contentment"

"Fun, enthralling call it what you will."

"What a great fun book and awesome listen. I don't think I've ever listened to another book and thought "aw it's over." It truly left me wanting more. Even the "behind the scenes" end on this audio book was entertaining. I hope he included an audio cd with the behind the scenes commentary in the paper book. It was that good. Listening to his approach to writing this book brought it all together wonderfully."

"50ish pages in and LOVING the book... If you have been enjoying any of Michael's posts, you definitely will enjoy the book even MORE (I've been reading it in your voice @michaeljaminwriter, and I may need to get the audio version to see if I'm getting the tone of everything correct!).

"I'm listening to it now on audible- currently at 'The Marisa Disclaimer.' I spoke of it (and you) over breakfast this morning. Never did I think I'd enjoy short stories this much! Your writing is so enjoyable to read/listen to. Easy reading is damn hard writing. As expected, I am also learning from your writing. I wish you all the success the world can offer."

"I laughed, I cried, I might even have snorted!"

"I ordered the book, but I couldn't wait for it to get here, so I've been listening to the audio book."

"Guys, you have to get the audio book!"

"These stories are incredible on their own, but hearing Michael tell them is a whole new experience. The humor, the sarcasm, the pain and heartbreak are so potent that I found myself on an emotional roller- coaster snickering, scoffing, crying, and laughing out loud again before the tears could dry. It's so well- written. It reminds me of everything I love about the craft of telling a great story and how powerful they can be when we have the courage to share them with others."

"This book is the validation I needed. I only wish my dad could have had even an inkling of the growth you have surmounted. I literally cried about 10 times. The Roxy story had me outright sobbing (fighting tears now just writing this because I'm at a cafe...). I Really appreciate the musical pauses that perfectly held space for me. What a brilliant idea for an audiobook. I of course bought your signed copy, the notebook, and the audiobook, and will buy the Amazon one too, to ensure the Amazon review. I'll put up reviews on Goodreads and Audible, too. Keep writing, Michael. You're my favorite author. George burns had a funny, loving touch, but he also had a team of writers and no twinkle of the exciting word choice you have. Never stop writing, Michael. I need more of this. What an impeccable example to follow. I might even burn a little sage and take on that new breathing practice. It's refreshing to hear what it's like in L.A. for you."

"I bought your book without expectations and I bought it primarily because I watch your free and endlessly patient answers to people's questions about screenwriting and I felt that it was the least I could do. It has been an amazing ride and I am forcing myself to go more slowly. I have laughed out loud (something I almost never do) and, although I have not yet cried, I have felt hurt to my stomach by some of your passages and by your brutally honest insights. I bought on Kindle, but if I can't find a hard copy in Australia to press on my friends (my ultimate accolade), I will send away for one. Thank you."

"A Gem of a Book Listening to Miachael Jamin's audio book "A Paper Orchestra" I am absolutely enamored of his personal stories. They had me completely captivated. His storytelling ability is truly remarkable, as he effortlessly weaves together moments of personal and candid experiences, woven with humor, that had me both laughing out loud and reflecting on my own life. "A Paper Orchestra" is a true gem that I am grateful to have discovered, along with the author himself, whom I also enjoy watching his regular posts on social media. It is a collection of personal stories that will stay with me long after I've finished listening. If you are looking for a heartfelt and entertaining audio book, look no further than this masterpiece by Miachael Jamin. I promise you won't be disappointed."

"Love This Audiobook!!!!!"

"The stories are honest and moving. Michael Jamin's voice and performance touched my heart and fe my mind. The stories take you on a ride of laughter tears and remind you of yourself and your own life's challenges and victories. The stories are raw, rich and beautiful. I felt uncomfortable with his honesty and comforted that he expressed what I think we all feel and experience. Thank you! I look forward to reading and hearing more from Michael Jamin."

"One more thing Jamin's stories stayed with me and I kept thinking about the characters, and the situations. I love that!"

"After engaging with his Tik Tok content for over a year and a half now, I was more than excited to buy Michael Jamin's memoir. If anything, I was ecstatic. After an impulse buy at 2 in the morning, let me just say that my anticipation was certainly worth it. Jamin takes you on such a journey with so many twists and turns, causing you to become disoriented before he hits you with the final blow. Then, as you regain your stability, he offers you some empathy and some words of wisdom before leaving you to lick your wounds on your own. This is not a novel to binge. Don't do what I did. You'll be emotionally overwhelmed. However, definitely take your time with this memoir, and don't miss out on picking it up! I wish I could read it for the first time all over again."

"I can't remember the last time a book so engrossed me. Michael Jamin must be one of the bravest writers I've ever read to expose his vulnerabilities and shortcomings, warts and all, in this collection of entertaining and heartfelt essays. He also made me laugh and reflect on my own life, realizing that many of the stories were relatable, like variations on a theme. Great book, great read. Bravo!"

"It takes a lot to pique my interest, but even more to hold it. I knew from page one, that I wouldn't be able to put this book down and I didn't. You know how you need to do things on the weekend, like grocery shopping, but then you have this book you're reading and you keep telling yourself, just one more chapter and then I'll do the things? Well, let's just say that the grocery shopping didn't get done 'til 9 PM on a Sunday night, in the dark, obviously, and the rain. Couldn't put it down. What are you waiting for?"

"A glimpse into Michael Jamin Life!"

"I have been able to relate to so many of the stories in this book. I have been listening to the book while I'm walking. I have my head phones on and just start laughing. People are staring at me like what's wrong with this guy! Michael does a hell of performance!"

"A Paper Orchestra"

"I am listening to the audible book. It is funny and heartwarming. So many stories reminded me of events in my own life that I have to stop listening and reminisce for awhile. I wish I had Michael sit with me over a cup of coffee to chat about certain chapters, that is how wonderfully personal the stories have been for me. I hope he writes more."

"Great read. I thoroughly enjoyed these glimpses into a Hollywood writer's life especially when his softer father/husband side was revealed. Like a good cliff hanger, this collection of essays left me wanting to hear more about his uncommon journey."

"You can tell this man writes for a living"

"I received an advanced copy of A Paper Orchestra and boy was this a treat to read. I normally not a big reader but I found myself having a hard time putting this book down. Michael does a great job of weaving you through a story from his life and makes you feel like you are there with him going through the same emotions he is."

"Almost done with your book. I'm consistently blown away by how raw a lot of it feels. So far my favorite part and not because I find joy in it, but because I know I'm going through the same thing with my kids (especially my oldest he's 14) at this current moment was the chapter about you and your daughter Roxy. It was very heart breaking and it truly moved me to tears."

"I've been reflecting on that portion of your book since I read that last weekend."

"An Exceptional Audiobook"

"I usually enjoy books more than audiobooks, but A Paper Orchestra is the exception. I read the book first & loved it, but then I listened to it, I discovered new layers to the stories. The authenticity will surprise you & move you. It's not an author just reading & it's more that a beautiful performance, It's what honesty sounds like. Give it a listen."

"Beautiful Read on Every Level"

"Paper Orchestra's is made with careful craft that weaves it all together. The tone is liminal and graceful with each story while allowing for the differences in each story. The performance felt like truth and draws you in with empathy for all the awkwardness and joy we've all experienced. And the small stories are gorgeous like cameos, carved from seashells, with every detail is tiny but perfect. I loved the musical interludes that are lovely and graceful."

"A great listen! Highly recommend!"

"A funny fresh and beautiful collection"

"A funny fresh and beautiful collection of moments in life. Michael is telling us about himself and his life and what he learnt but you will definitely learn about your self too. A delightful listen with moments to let you site in the moment and reflect. A lovely heartfelt book."
