A Paper Orchestra - Tour Pack

From the writer of King of the Hill, Beavis and Butt-Head, Just Shoot Me, Wilfred, Maron, Rules of Engagement, and Tacoma FD comes a one-man show that asks the question, "What if the smallest, almost forgotten moments were the ones that shaped us most?"

Based on his bestselling collection of personal essays, A Paper Orchestra.

Show Synopsis

When we think about the moments that change our lives, our minds often go to the big ones: surviving an accident, landing a dream job, winning the lottery...

But what if that's wrong?

What if it's the smallest, almost forgotten moments that are the ones that shape us most?

In this one-man show, Emmy nominated screenwriter Michael Jamin traces a path to self-discovery. Where he arrives will surprise you.

Additional Elements

After each performance, Michael sells and signs copies of his book, A Paper Orchestra.

Technical Elements

A cross between David Sedaris and Neil Simon, performs his work, exploring the moments shape us: Love, shame, failure, and redemption. Although the details are from Michael’s life, the stories are all of ours.

Recommended for audiences 18 yrs +A Paper Orchestra is a very intimate and powerful show. As such, we prefer to perform in small, black box theaters. Michael’s only prop is a portable music stand where Michael rests his work.

• Standard Lighting and Sound Plan: We only require 2-3 light changes during the show (minimum spotlight). Sound system with connections to computers, and phones. If there isn’t wifi in the theater or bluetooth, then we would need cable connections for sound. There are 3-4 music cues.

• Minimal Stage Dimensions: 15 ft (d) x 15 ft (w) (4.5 meters x 4.5 meters)

• Set and Props: Black box, (1) Rug 4 ft x 4 ft, (1) Music Stand. We travel
with both of these.
